“I live near Dartmoor, a harsh and isolated area. Centuries ago, people had to walk across it (there was no A38!) and in mist or wintry weather, it is very easy to get lost. In particular, there were pilgrims’ routes leading from one abbey to another. Stone crosses were erected at crucial places to mark the routes for pilgrims to traverse the moor safely. Many of these still exist, in various stages of repair. This painting shows one of them. It reminded me that Jesus is the Way and following him will ensure a safe passage through the wild places of this life to our eternal destination. “ Jean Mintoft

The painting is painted with oils onto stretched canvas. It is unvarnished.  The painting itself measures 40cm by 30cm. The painting will be sent out from the artist in the UK.
