“The rescue”

And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.”  Matthew 18: 12 – 14 (This story is also told in Luke 15 : 3 – 7)

“The Good Shepherd goes to look for his sheep who has become helpless and stuck. He searches until the lost one is found, then carries them back to safety. I loved the challenge of painting this with such a limited palette. I know what it is to have wandered to a dangerous place and know too , what it is to be rescued by the Good Shepherd!”  Lynne Pugh
