A mounted and framed textile picture by Jean Mintoft, £500 plus postage and packing
“He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.” Matthew 28:6
“At Easter this year, during lockdown, I was contemplating the wonder of the resurrection and having read the account of the women visiting the tomb early in the morning, I felt the urge to portray the empty tomb using wool felt. I love working with felt because it is so organic and unpredictable yet gives a beautiful effect. My aim was to show the empty tomb in a garden setting and the dawn breaking, to reflect the breaking in of new life.” Jean
The picture is created using Merino wool, wet felted, with embroidered embellishments.
The size of this unframed textile piece is approximately 24cm by 30cm. The size of the framed picture is 34cm by 44cm. The felt is mounted onto white mount board and the frame is plain matte white, 2.2cm wide.
