“This painting is loosely based on a local scene and was inspired by those weather conditions which often occur, when thick and stormy cloud cover suddenly parts and brilliant light shines through. This is like a glimpse of heaven which God graciously affords us from time to time. This always cheers me, whatever the circumstances I find myself in.
