I had an image in my heart of someone being comforted, protected and covered in a robe. As with many of my paintings, I see the image in my heart and just try to paint it the way I see it. I pray that is speaks to people, just to be reminded that the Lord is always with us.

The verse on the back of this card is, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.” Isaiah 41 : 10

This painting is taken from the well-known verses in Isaiah, chapter  6:  I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple…. Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs from the altar.  And he touched my mouth with it and said  “Behold, this has touched your lips; Your iniquity is taken away and your sin purged.”  Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying:  Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me.” 

The verse on the back of the card is,  Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me.” Isaiah 6 : 8

I always want to try and tell some sort of story in my paintings, and most show the relationship that God has with us. This painting is about someone being given the sword of the Spirit to help with their journey.
