This painting was inspired by a very old photo taken in Israel of a shepherd with his sheep. I have a passion for the Shepherd message that Scripture uses so often
It speaks so wonderfully of His love for us and His watching care. Much of the area where I live looks very much like Israel so I used my own photos of this environment to support constructing the painting.
The scriptures that spoke to me concerning this image are mostly from the book of John, chapter 10. I named it after verse 4: “And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.” We are to follow Him in perfect peace and order.
