Hello Shoshona,
I have just completed a PowerPoint show for a performance that I and three others hope to take around the country - see Veritasse Newsletter. I have included background music to the performance.
I did find the process of adding music quite complicated but having done it once it should be easy in future. You need to RIP the music files you want from a CD. RealPlayer (a free download) can do that. I saved files in mp3 format but then found they wouldn’t play in PowerPoint so I had to convert to WAV format. Another free software program did that for me (FreeRIP). If you search on the web you will find these programs.
In PowerPoint you insert the sound file and you can choose how many slides you want it to run with.
You will have to pay copyright if you are going to use the slide show in public performances. I am using the first and second movements of the New World Symphony and have been advised that I need to pay £10.01 per performance of up to 500 people. You have to make a formal application to PPL see www.ppluk.com/
Best wishes,
Jo
