I have to say that I don't generally watch these programmes- a lack of time and interest combined, I guess, but when I watched "The Apprentice" for one series, I found it quite addictive, so I can see why people get so involved in reality shows.
I have wondered whether I lose a valuable starting point for conversations by not watching these things. They all touch on areas of morality, so there is plenty of scope for "spiritual" issues coming out of them. I don't think that it is entirely wrong for Christians to watch "Big Brother", but I just wouldn't want to do it.
I have thought about whether a Christian would be able to witness by being on the show. I just feel that the viewing audience vote according to the possibility of future excitement and titillation, rather than making judgements about a person's character. I don't think a Christian would last beyond the first few votes in the Big Brother house.
