Who are your role models when it comes to creating as a Christian?

I find Rouault an inspiration for the way he combines compassion and critique, Chagall for the way in which reconciliation informs every aspect of his work from content through to construction, Albert Herbert for the freedom and depth of his style and imagery, Norman Adams for the vibrancy of his use of colour, and John Reilly for the way in which he depicts the oneness and unity of God’s invisible power binding all things into one whole.

Reality TV

With the huge number of Reality TV programs now on TV, from dancing/singing competitions, to voyeurism of Big Brother, do we think there is a place for Christians? I am looking for two answers:

Should a Christian watch these programmes “in order to witness” to those at work who discuss these programmes?
Should a Christian be part of these programmes, actually go on the TV like Gareth Gates did?

My point is, should we as artists be following the overall trends in Culture to add our viewpoin

Christian Humour

I recently saw some new artwork that was “humourous”. The picture was a photo of a “Christian” - that is sandles and socks, untrendy cardigan, glasses and beard playing guitar with scary smile. The quote underneath was “Witnessing for the Lord.” It was funny, the smile really did make the person a “Jesus freak”. Obviously the artist was poking fun at Christians, but is clearly for a Christian market as it was addressing some of the bad stereotypes in the Christian community. The artist was a Christian.
